03 – Intro to ProVis Software (Part 2)

While part one of this two part podcast series focused on Sketchup, InfraWorks and Lumion, this latter half focuses on the software programs that typically require more training to become proficient in. These are tools often used by professionals to create construction documents or, in the case of 3ds Max, a bunch of blockbuster movies. These applications are not for the faint of heart… but that is kind of what makes them fun.
While I have used each of these on some level or another, I am by no means and expert (although I’ve gotten pretty good with Civil 3D and Microstation/InRoads since I’ve used them almost daily in my career.) There are much better places to learn how to be proficient at these programs than Civil FX but I plan on showing you how I use them to produce project visualizations in future posts and episodes of the Civil FX podcast.
